Cloud Security Engineer

London | Hybrid | Financial Services / Digital Assets

The Client

Our client is a highly regulated, technology-led financial services business operating at the intersection of institutional finance and digital assets.

They're looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to take ownership of cloud security architecture, Infrastructure-as-Code and security engineering across their Azure environment.

This is a hands-on role with genuine autonomy and is ideal for someone who enjoys building, improving and influencing rather than simply operating within an existing framework.

What You'll Do

  • Own and evolve Azure cloud security architecture and secure engineering standards.
  • Become the technical authority for Infrastructure-as-Code, particularly Terraform and GitHub.
  • Design and implement secure Azure / Entra ID identity and access controls.
  • Develop cloud security using Zero Trust, least privilege and defence-in-depth principles.
  • Work hands-on with Microsoft Sentinel, Wiz, Defender, Intune and Azure Key Vault.
  • Build and tune security detections using KQL.
  • Automate security processes using PowerShell and/or Python.
  • Partner with Engineering and Compliance on architecture, security and regulatory requirements.
  • Influence security tooling, technical standards and the wider cloud strategy.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

  • Strong Terraform / Infrastructure-as-Code experience.
  • Excellent Git and CI/CD knowledge.
  • Experience with Microsoft Sentinel / SIEM and KQL.
  • Experience with cloud security tooling such as Wiz.
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell and/or Python.
  • Experience working in a regulated, high-security or high-assurance environment.

Why Consider It?

This is a chance to have real ownership and visibility across a growing technology organisation.

You'll sit at the intersection of Cloud Engineering, Security and Architecture, with the freedom to make technical decisions, introduce better ways of working and help shape the firm's security platform as it scales.

If you're an Azure-focused Cloud Security Engineer who wants more ownership, more technical influence and the opportunity to build, we'd be keen to speak.
