About The Role
We are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud & Python Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will serve as a crucial link between application development and cloud infrastructure, taking ownership of the full lifecycle of data transformation applications. Your primary responsibility will be to write clean, efficient Python code while designing and managing the AWS infrastructure that supports these applications seamlessly. Collaborating closely with our existing cloud engineering team, you will focus on building, modernising, and deploying scalable data processing solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about end-to-end ownership, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform to deploy cost-effective, high-performance AWS architectures capable of handling large-scale data efficiently. This role offers an exciting opportunity to solve complex problems using the latest AWS technologies, contributing directly to the company's technological growth and innovation.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in both Python software development and AWS cloud infrastructure deployment. Proven hands-on experience with core AWS services such as S3, Lambda, ECS, SQS, RDS, and EC2 is essential. Candidates should have demonstrated expertise in deploying and managing cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform. Experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like AWS ECS is highly desirable. Familiarity with data processing and ETL strategies, especially handling high-volume data streams, will be advantageous. Additionally, proficiency with modern DevOps practices, including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing, is required. A background in agile methodologies and familiarity with tools like Jira will be beneficial. Candidates should also possess excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively within a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient Python applications for real-time telematics and large-scale data transformation projects.
- Provision, manage, and scale secure AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), ensuring high availability and cost-efficiency.
- Architect solutions focusing on low latency, high throughput, and reliability, optimizing for performance and cost-effectiveness.
- Deploy serverless and containerized workloads utilizing AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, EC2, SQS, S3, and RDS.
- Implement and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, building, and deploying cloud-based applications.
- Set up performance monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting using AWS CloudWatch and X-Ray to ensure operational excellence and quick resolution of issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernise existing applications and implement new features aligned with business goals.
- Stay updated with the latest AWS innovations and best practices, integrating them into our cloud strategy.
