About The Role

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a relevant qualification in finance, social work, or a related field, such as a degree or professional certification in debt management or financial planning. Proven experience in providing debt advice, financial counseling, or a similar advisory role is essential. Strong understanding of debt solutions, insolvency procedures, and consumer credit regulations is required. Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to communicate complex information clearly are crucial. Candidates should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capacity to work independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in using debt management software and Microsoft Office applications is also desirable. A commitment to the organization’s values of integrity, compassion, and professionalism is vital.
Responsibilities
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of clients’ financial situations, including income, expenses, debts, and assets.
- Developing tailored debt management plans, negotiating with creditors, and exploring options such as debt relief orders, IVAs, or insolvency procedures where appropriate.
- Providing ongoing support and guidance to clients throughout their debt resolution journey, ensuring they understand their options and feel empowered to make informed decisions.
- Maintaining accurate case records, preparing detailed reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
- Participating in training sessions, team meetings, and continuous professional development activities to stay updated on industry best practices.
- Building strong relationships with external partners, including financial institutions and community organizations, to deliver comprehensive support to clients.
- Contributing to raising awareness about financial literacy and debt management within the community through outreach initiatives and educational programs.
