Early Careers Cloud Engineer
We are looking for an Early Careers Cloud Engineer to join our growing technology team, supporting the delivery and operation of modern cloud environments and solutions across Microsoft Azure and AWS.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the early stages of their cloud engineering career who has gained some practical cloud or DevOps experience and wants to develop broader skills across multi-cloud infrastructure, automation and DevOps engineering.
What You'll Be Doing
- Support the deployment, configuration and operation of cloud resources across Azure and AWS.
- Support the development and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, including Azure DevOps.
- Help automate application and infrastructure deployments.
- Work with Git, source control, branching and release management processes.
- Assist with troubleshooting deployment, environment and cloud infrastructure issues.
- Work alongside experienced Cloud and DevOps Engineers to deliver client solutions.
- Support Infrastructure as Code and automation activities.
- Contribute to cloud monitoring, security and operational improvements.
- Maintain technical documentation and deployment procedures.
- Work within agile delivery teams and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Develop your technical capability across Azure, AWS, DevOps, automation and cloud engineering.
What We're Looking For
- Around 6–24 months of experience within Cloud, DevOps, Infrastructure or a similar technical role.
- Practical experience or exposure to Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
- Some hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD tooling.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
- Understanding of Git and source control.
- Good understanding of core cloud and infrastructure concepts.
- An interest in automation and Infrastructure as Code.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work collaboratively within technical and multidisciplinary teams.
- A genuine interest in developing a career across cloud and DevOps engineering.
Desirable Experience
We don't expect candidates at this level to have experience across all of the following, but exposure to any of these areas would be beneficial:
- Azure and/or AWS infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage and identity.
- Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation or similar.
- Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or other CI/CD tooling.
- PowerShell, Bash, Python or other scripting languages.
- Docker or containerisation.
- Cloud monitoring, security and observability tooling.
- Azure or AWS certifications.
- Experience within Government, Defence or other secure environments.

Security Clearance
This role supports work within secure Government and Defence environments. Candidates must be eligible and willing to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance and will be required to maintain the appropriate level of security clearance for the duration of their employment.

This role is designed for someone who has started building practical Cloud or DevOps experience and is ready to take the next step in their career.
You will work alongside experienced technology professionals, gain exposure to real-world Azure and AWS environments and have the opportunity to develop your skills across cloud infrastructure, DevOps and automation.
We don't expect you to know everything from day one or to already have experience across both Azure and AWS. We're looking for strong technical foundations, curiosity and the motivation to develop into a well-rounded multi-cloud engineer.
