Cloud Engineer – EUC

Location: Northampton - 3 days per week on site
Salary: Up to £60,000 + £6,050 Car Allowance | 10% Bonus | Private Medical Insurance

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Cloud Engineer – EUC to join a forward-thinking IT function, with the opportunity to develop into a Domain Architect role over time. This is an ideal position for someone with strong technical knowledge across the Microsoft and Azure ecosystem, who enjoys working on complex enterprise environments and wants to develop their architectural skills and influence. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, implementation and ongoing development of cloud and end-user computing solutions, while gaining increasing exposure to architecture, governance and strategic technology decisions. You must live within a commutable distance of Northampton to be considered for the role.

The Role

Working across a complex technology environment, the Cloud Engineer will:

  • Design, implement and support enterprise-scale Microsoft, Azure and EUC solutions.
  • Work across Azure, Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra, Windows Server and modern EUC technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of scalable, secure and robust cloud and workplace solutions.
  • Produce and contribute to High-Level Designs (HLDs) and influence Low-Level Design (LLD) development.
  • Support architectural governance, standards and structured technology design processes.
  • Work closely with infrastructure, security, applications and wider technology teams.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations based on technical and business requirements.
  • Work with internal stakeholders and technology partners to deliver effective solutions.
  • Develop an understanding of the wider enterprise architecture and technology roadmap.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background within Cloud Engineering and EUC, with good experience across the Microsoft technology landscape.

  • Strong technical knowledge of Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID/Active Directory, EUC, Defender and Windows Server.
  • Experience designing, implementing and supporting complex enterprise technology solutions.
  • You will have worked within a large company where strong governance is in place.
  • An understanding of cloud architecture, security and modern identity principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand the wider implications of technical decisions.
  • Experience working within technical governance or structured design environments.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

The Opportunity

This role offers more than simply a Cloud Engineering position. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their architectural capability, gaining exposure to enterprise design, governance, strategic decision-making and technology roadmaps, with a clear pathway towards becoming a Domain Architect.

Relevant Azure certifications or equivalent would be beneficial.
