About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team on a temporary basis for a three-month project based in London with a hybrid working model. This role offers the opportunity to work on critical cloud infrastructure initiatives, focusing on Azure environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating high-level designs into reliable, governed, and secure cloud infrastructure components. You will collaborate closely with a small team of cloud specialists to automate deployment processes, implement governance policies, and ensure the security and efficiency of the cloud environment. This position is ideal for professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality cloud solutions that align with organizational standards and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud infrastructure, particularly within Azure environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or similar technologies.
- Strong understanding of cloud governance, security policies, and RBAC (Role-Based Access Control).
- Experience provisioning and managing core Azure services including networking, storage, key vaults, and virtual machines.
- Knowledge of network components such as load balancers, virtual networks, and VPN gateways.
- Familiarity with backup, monitoring, and security best practices in cloud environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a small, focused team.
- Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, or similar are preferred.

Responsibilities
- Develop detailed low-level designs for the target Azure cloud environment, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and best practices.
- Establish and configure an Infrastructure as Code platform to facilitate automated landing zone deployments.
- Create and manage management groups, subscriptions, resource groups, and enforce Azure policies and governance frameworks.
- Configure RBAC to support secure and compliant access controls across cloud resources.
- Design, build, and test network components including load balancers, virtual networks, and VPNs to ensure robust connectivity and security.
- Provision and manage core Azure services such as storage accounts, key vaults, and file servers, ensuring optimal performance and security.
- Implement backup solutions and monitoring services to maintain high availability and operational insight into the environment.
- Provision and configure virtual machines, including application servers, middleware, and databases, with appropriate security controls.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues, optimize infrastructure, and ensure compliance with governance policies.
