About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic team for a short-term contract of three months. This role is based in London with a hybrid working model, offering a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud infrastructure projects. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for translating architectural designs into reliable, governed Azure environments. Your expertise will be crucial in automating and building secure, scalable infrastructure components aligned with best practices in Infrastructure as Code, governance, and security.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure, specifically within Azure. You should have a proven track record of delivering end-to-end cloud solutions, from initial design to deployment and testing. Practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as ARM templates, Terraform, or similar platforms is essential. A thorough understanding of governance frameworks, policies, and RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) is required to ensure secure and compliant environments. Additionally, familiarity with provisioning core Azure services such as networking, storage, key vaults, and virtual machines is necessary. Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively within a small team of cloud specialists are also important.

Responsibilities
- Design and produce detailed low-level designs for the target Azure cloud environment, ensuring alignment with architectural standards and project requirements.
- Set up and configure Infrastructure as Code platforms to facilitate automated landing zone deployments, ensuring repeatability and consistency across environments.
- Create management groups, subscriptions, resource groups, and implement Azure policies to enforce governance and compliance standards.
- Configure RBAC and other access controls to support secure and restricted access to cloud resources.
- Build, test, and optimize network components including load balancers, virtual networks, and firewalls to ensure high availability and security.
- Provision and manage core Azure services such as storage accounts, key vaults, and file servers, aligning with organizational needs.
- Implement backup strategies and monitoring solutions to ensure data integrity and operational visibility.
- Provision virtual machines for various workloads including application servers, middleware, and databases, with appropriate security and operational controls.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure delivery of high-quality cloud infrastructure solutions.
