Senior Cloud Engineer
Our Client is currently recruiting for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join on an initial 6-month contract.
Rate: £465 per day Umbrella
Duration: 6 months
Hours: 36.5 hours per week
We are looking for an experienced infrastructure professional with strong hands-on experience across enterprise storage, backup and 3rd line infrastructure support.
Key Responsibilities & Experience
Storage
- Hands-on experience administering and supporting NetApp storage systems
- Strong experience with NetApp ONTAP / Clustered ONTAP
- Experience with Qumulo would be beneficial but is not essential
- Strong understanding of aggregates, volumes, LUNs and qtrees
- Experience with NFS and CIFS/SMB
- Strong understanding of Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs)
- Experience with Snapshots and SnapMirror
- Design and support of enterprise storage solutions
- Capacity planning and performance tuning
- High availability, HA pairs and clustering
- Firmware and ONTAP upgrades
- Storage migrations and data lifecycle management

Backup
- Strong understanding of backup fundamentals, including full and incremental backups
- Retention policies and lifecycle management
- RPO and RTO
- Disaster recovery principles
- Data integrity validation and restore testing
- Hands-on experience with enterprise backup platforms such as Cohesity and/or Rubrik
- Experience backing up and restoring enterprise databases
- Experience protecting VM-based infrastructure
- Understanding of image-level backups and application-consistent snapshots

3rd Line Infrastructure Support
- Experience working within broad 3rd line ticketing queues
- Operating system support
- Entry-level VMware support
- NTFS permissions
- General systems administration
About You
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently within complex enterprise environments
- Clear documentation and communication skills
- Strong enterprise infrastructure support background
