About The Role
We are seeking experienced Cloud Engineers to join BAE Systems Digital Intelligence as part of our expanding team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex cloud-native architectures, leveraging the latest AWS technologies and infrastructure-as-code practices. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, deploying, and managing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions that meet the evolving needs of our clients. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to innovative projects, and help shape the future of cloud infrastructure within the organization. - Proficiency in a range of AWS services, with a keen interest in staying updated on the latest features and releases.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, or Ansible.
- Solid understanding of networking principles and their application within software-defined networking in the cloud environment.
- Experience with container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, ECS, or OpenShift.
- Scripting proficiency in at least one language, such as Python, Bash, or Go.
- AWS certifications are desirable but not mandatory; the organization offers training and certification opportunities to support your professional growth.
Responsibilities
As a Cloud Engineer at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and constructing cloud-native architectures that are scalable, secure, and efficient.
- Deploying cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CDK, ensuring repeatability and consistency.
- Creating, managing, and maintaining infrastructure components to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver tailored cloud solutions.
- Developing standard implementation patterns and templates to streamline project deployment processes.
- Managing software configurations and source repositories to ensure version control and compliance.
- Implementing security best practices by leveraging AWS security features and collaborating with development teams to embed security into the development lifecycle.
- For senior-level engineers, providing leadership and mentorship to team members, guiding best practices, and overseeing project delivery.
