About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled AWS Cloud & Python Engineer to join our growing team at Hireful. In this role, you will act as a bridge between application development and cloud infrastructure, owning the full lifecycle of data transformation applications. Your responsibilities will include writing clean, efficient Python code and designing scalable AWS architectures to support high-performance data solutions. This position offers the flexibility of remote work within the UK or a hybrid setup from our Southwest-based offices in Bristol, Bath, or Exeter. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Python development, AWS DevOps, or data engineering, with a passion for building robust, cost-effective, and high-throughput cloud environments. The role provides an excellent opportunity to work with the latest AWS technologies on complex data challenges, making a tangible impact on real-world applications.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical skills and practical experience, including:

  • Proven experience in core Python development, with a strong grasp of writing efficient and maintainable code.
  • Hands-on experience working with AWS services such as S3, Lambda, ECS, SQS, RDS, and EC2.
  • Demonstrated expertise in deploying and managing infrastructure using Terraform.
  • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms such as ECS.
  • Familiarity with data transformation strategies, high-volume data streams, and real-time decision-making processes.
  • Strong understanding of Git version control and CI/CD pipelines for automation and seamless deployment.
  • Preferred but not mandatory: experience in data engineering, high-performance data processing, or related fields.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Designing, developing, and maintaining Python applications that facilitate real-time decision-making and large-scale data transformation.
  • Provisioning, configuring, and scaling secure AWS infrastructure using Terraform to ensure high availability and cost efficiency.
  • Architecting solutions that are low-latency, reliable, and capable of handling high-throughput data streams without compromising performance.
  • Deploying serverless and containerized workloads utilizing AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, EC2, SQS, and S3.
  • Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to automate testing, deployment, and integration processes.
  • Implementing monitoring and logging strategies using CloudWatch and AWS X-Ray to ensure system health and performance.
  • Collaborating closely with the cloud engineering team to optimize infrastructure and application performance.
  • Continuously exploring new AWS features and best practices to enhance system capabilities and security.
