Senior Cloud Engineer
Location: Southwest Hybrid – Based from Plymouth, Exeter, or Weston-Super-Mare
Contract Type: Full time, Permanent (37 hours per week)
Salary: From £53,000 p.a.

We're looking for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join our Identity & Collaboration team and play a key role in the development, support and evolution of our cloud infrastructure services.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cloud professional who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, leading technical improvements and sharing knowledge with others. You'll be a subject matter expert within a multi-tenant enterprise environment, helping ensure our services remain secure, available, flexible and efficient.
What you’ll be doing:
As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll take ownership of key cloud and identity platforms, leading their ongoing development, support and continuous improvement. Working closely with the Identity & Collaboration Service Owner, architects and engineering teams, you'll:
- Act as a technical lead and subject matter expert across cloud and identity technologies.
- Deliver operational improvements, maintenance activities, projects and service enhancements.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of complex incidents and technical issues.
- Design, implement and document new solutions, integrations and service improvements.
- Ensure systems remain secure, resilient and aligned to business and customer requirements.
- Support change and release activity through robust planning, testing and governance.
- Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning, service resilience and technical roadmaps.
- Mentor and support junior engineers, helping to develop capability across the team.
- Work collaboratively with technical architects, project teams and customers to deliver successful outcomes.

About the technology:
You'll be working across a modern Microsoft-focused technology landscape, which may include:
- Microsoft Azure
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft 365 services
- Exchange Online and Teams
- Active Directory
- DNS and Certificate Services
- Power Platform
- Identity and collaboration technologies
- Cloud automation and integration services
What you’ll bring:
We're seeking someone with strong technical expertise and a genuine passion for cloud technologies. You'll be comfortable operating in a senior engineering role, balancing hands-on technical delivery with leadership and guidance.
You'll ideally have:
- Significant experience working within enterprise IT infrastructure environments.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud and identity technologies.
- Experience supporting and improving business-critical services.
- A proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Experience producing technical documentation, standards and operational procedures.
- Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks such as Cyber Essentials.
- Experience working within an ITIL-based support environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to continuous improvement.

Relevant technical certifications and ITIL Foundation certification would be advantageous, as would experience with VMware environments and cloud migration initiatives.
