Job Description

Cloud FinOps Lead

Permanent: hybrid, up to 3 days WFH

Locations: London or Staines

Salary: from £70k DOE + 10% bonus + fantastic benefits

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

In this role you will:

  • Lead the adoption and continuous improvement of financial management practices to maximize measurable business value realized from technology investments.
  • Cultivate relationships with technical teams and support them to optimize technology consumption and maximize business value.

How You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen

  • Implement and evolve financial management and value optimization practices across technology services at Bupa, with a particular focus on Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AI services, and associated infrastructure and platform services.
  • Lead a small team to operate Bupa’s financial management and optimization capability, with an initial focus on cloud and AI services.
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to understand and manage their costs, consumption patterns, investment priorities, and efficiency realization.
  • Lead technology optimization, value management, and cost management processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness of technology consumption, partnering with designers, engineers, and technical managers to implement and track the benefits of these opportunities.
  • Optimize commercial pricing and rates. Lead and manage a portfolio of technology financial commitments, utilization, and support contractual processes to optimize value from investments.

You

  • Professional experience in information technology operations.
  • Experience in technology or cloud financial management practices, including budgeting, forecasting, spend tracking, and evolving cost management capabilities.
  • Practical knowledge of cost management capabilities, pricing models, FinOps practices, and using cloud consumption analysis to derive actionable insights.
  • Experience with Azure / GCP / OCI operations, governance, and cloud financial management.
  • Experience with cloud optimization practices (e.g., capacity planning, rightsizing, tagging) or cloud cost optimization tools (e.g., Cloudability, CloudHealth).
  • Understanding of the DevOps way of working.
  • A strong analytical background, with attention to detail.
  • Track record of building strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Experience in leading people.
  • A desire to be 'hands on' with cloud reporting, PowerBI, Excel, etc.
