Cloud FinOps Tooling Engineer

You will play a key role in delivering trusted, actionable cost transparency and optimisation insight across Public Cloud and On-Premise Infrastructure. The role will act as a bridge between FinOps stakeholders, Technology teams, Finance and internal BI/MI consumers across the Bank. You will lead the end-to-end delivery of complex data and reporting projects: understanding business needs, translating requirements into robust data and reporting solutions, and ensuring that outputs are accurate, sustainable and fit for purpose.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex FinOps data and BI/MI projects from requirements gathering through to delivery, ensuring solutions are scalable, well documented and fit for purpose
  • Engage with internal stakeholders and BI/MI consumers across the Bank to understand business needs, define requirements and translate them into clear reporting and data solutions
  • Develop and maintain trusted reporting using Power BI and other BI tooling, providing clear insight into Public Cloud and On-Premise Infrastructure cost, usage, trends and optimisation opportunities
  • Analyse and reconcile data from sources including Apptio Cloudability, BigQuery, financial systems and technology data, identifying cost drivers, anomalies and data-quality issues
  • Own data-quality and governance activities, including validation, metadata, business definitions, lineage and the investigation and resolution of reporting issues
  • Support cost optimisation and benefits tracking by developing reliable methodologies for measuring savings, avoided costs, ROI and the impact of FinOps initiatives

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
