Job Description: Cloud Governance Lead
Competitive Salary, Bonus & Benefits

Permanent role – 37.5 hours per week

About the Role
The Cloud Governance Lead is a key role in shaping the future of Bupa's technology landscape. You will join our Internal Products and Platforms team, which is leading the transformation of our global technology infrastructure, including the move to modern cloud platforms, connected networks and digital services that support better health outcomes.
This is a highly visible leadership role with responsibility for cloud governance, financial management, risk and compliance across a significant technology portfolio. You'll work closely with senior technology leaders, security specialists, finance partners and business stakeholders to make sure our cloud services are secure, cost-effective and delivering real value.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Bupa's cloud governance and FinOps approach, helping teams understand and optimise cloud spending.
- Develop and manage governance frameworks, controls and policies that support secure and compliant cloud services.
- Drive cost visibility, forecasting and financial accountability across cloud platforms.
- Chair governance forums and support clear decision-making on cloud investment and priorities.
- Embed governance through automation and policy-as-code approaches.
- Lead audit and assurance activities, ensuring ongoing compliance and audit readiness.
- Manage strategic relationships with cloud and technology suppliers.
- Oversee demand management and prioritisation across cloud services.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team, supporting performance, development and recruitment activities.

What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced technology leader who can balance governance, commercial thinking and people leadership.
You will bring:
- Significant experience in cloud governance, cloud operations, FinOps or a similar leadership role.
- Experience working within a regulated environment – i.e. banking or insurance.
- Strong understanding of risk management, compliance and audit requirements.
- Experience managing significant budgets and financial planning.
- Proven success delivering large transformation programmes.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders up to CIO and Director level.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, organisational and decision-making skills.
