Job Title: Senior Logging & Inventory Engineer

Location: Glasgow
Duration: 6 Month
Contract Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Logging & Inventory Engineer to join our dynamic team in Glasgow. This is a critical role within the team's next-generation cloud environment, Atlas 2.0, which serves as a multi-cloud control plane spanning AWS, Azure, GCP, and On-Premise infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and managing robust logging, monitoring, and inventory solutions, with a strong focus on GCP and AWS environments, and contributing to AI enablement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive logging, monitoring, and inventory management solutions across GCP and AWS cloud platforms.
  • Develop and deploy automation scripts and infrastructure-as-code using Python and Terraform to streamline operational processes and enhance system reliability.
  • Leverage AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Co-Pilot and Claude Code to accelerate development and improve code quality for DevOps initiatives.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and evolution of the Atlas 2.0 platform, specifically focusing on GCP logging and inventory functionalities.
  • Manage and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and applications using shell scripting and command-line tools.
  • Drive automation efforts to improve efficiency, reduce manual intervention, and ensure consistent application of best practices.
  • Implement and manage logging and monitoring for containerised applications and Kubernetes clusters.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate logging and inventory solutions with other platform components and services.
  • Ensure adherence to security, compliance, and operational best practices within the logging and inventory frameworks.

Skills and Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing logging, monitoring, and inventory solutions within GCP and AWS environments.
  • Proficiency in Python and Terraform for automation and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Experience with Git and modern DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Co-Pilot and Claude Code for development work.
  • Strong ability to work effectively in a shell environment (e.g., Bash, Zsh).
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and implement automation initiatives.
  • Experience with Kubernetes or other containerisation technologies.
