Cloud Infrastructure Developer
Squarepoint is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Developer. This role is ideal for both junior and experienced software engineers who specializes in infrastructure automation through deep, programmatic integration of service-level APIs. This is not a traditional infrastructure operations role focused on IAC tools. Day to day you will work with teams across the business spanning both technology and trading. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong emphasis on automation.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Architect and evolve Squarepoint’s cloud environment using modern infrastructure engineering practices.
- Design and implement automation for provisioning, configuration management, and image-based deployments across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Develop internal tooling and APIs to abstract infrastructure complexity and improve productivity.
- Drive observability initiatives by building and integrating telemetry pipelines (metrics, logs, traces, alerting).
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure cloud infrastructure supports application scalability, reliability, and security.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
