Due to continued growth in our cloud and digital engineering capabilities, we are looking to appoint a permanent professional who will play a key role in expanding our long-term capability and supporting future business growth.
Responsibilities
DevOps & Automation
- Design, deploy and manage Azure infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a strong focus on Terraform.
- Develop, maintain and optimise automated deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps, ensuring consistent and repeatable infrastructure and application delivery.
- Create and maintain PowerShell scripts and deployment automation to streamline infrastructure provisioning, configuration management and operational tasks.
- Implement and support Azure virtual machines, networking, backup and recovery solutions through automated deployment processes.
- Embed security controls and best practices within Azure environments, ensuring compliance with organisational and customer security standards.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance automation, operational efficiency and platform reliability through new tools and technologies.
BAU & Operations
- Provision, configure, monitor and support Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring high levels of availability, performance and security.
- Manage infrastructure monitoring and logging using Azure-native and third-party tooling, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Investigate and resolve incidents, service requests and escalations, applying structured troubleshooting and root cause analysis techniques.
- Plan, coordinate and implement infrastructure upgrades, patches and changes whilst assessing business and technical impacts.
- Ensure backup, recovery and security services remain operational and aligned to business requirements.
- Support enterprise networking services including Azure networking, Azure Firewall.
- Managing day-to-day operations in Azure and Windows OS Server environments.

Process Definition & Documentation
- Create, maintain and continuously improve technical documentation covering infrastructure architecture, operational procedures, troubleshooting guides and deployment standards.
- Define and document operational processes, support procedures and change controls to ensure effective collaboration between service providers, technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of best practices, standards and governance for Azure cloud operations.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Work closely with customers, architects, project managers and technical teams to deliver Azure solutions that meet business requirements.
- Act as a technical lead for infrastructure deployments, complex issue resolution and project delivery activities.
- Communicate technical concepts, risks, progress updates and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritise workloads, manage delivery backlogs and support business objectives.
- Operate effectively in dynamic environments, adapting to changing priorities, requirements and technologies while maintaining service quality.

- CI/CD practices and implementation
- Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments and management
- Azure Automation
- Azure Active Directory (Entra ID)
- PowerShell scripting and automation
- Source Control Systems (Git)
- Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC)
- Agile / Scrum methodologies
- Windows operating systems and server administration
