DevOps Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a leading enterprise technology organization.

Role Overview

The successful consultant will provide immediate support across Windows infrastructure, cloud operations, vulnerability remediation, and automation initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who can quickly integrate into an established environment, working independently while collaborating with globally distributed teams across Europe, India, and the US. The position will focus on Windows Server management, AWS infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, and operational efficiency improvements through modern tooling and AI-powered solutions.

This position is a remote role based in the UK and is a 3-month contract (Inside IR35) to start with extensions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain Windows Server infrastructure, including patching, remediation, and application deployments
  • Support and administer AWS EC2 environments and cloud infrastructure
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Build, optimize, and support CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Create and maintain automated deployment processes using Python, Ansible, and Packer
  • Develop standardized machine images and infrastructure configurations
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams across multiple regions
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and automation technologies to improve operational efficiency and streamline infrastructure management
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance reliability, scalability, and deployment processes

Must-Have Requirements

  • Strong experience supporting Windows Server environments, including OS patching, vulnerability remediation, and application deployments
  • Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, particularly EC2 administration and infrastructure management
  • Proven experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Experience building, maintaining, and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions
  • Strong Python scripting skills for automation and infrastructure management
  • Experience with Ansible and Packer for configuration management, image creation, automation, and infrastructure provisioning
  • Experience working with YAML-based deployment and configuration frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience supporting cloud infrastructure operations and production environments
