Cloud Native Customer Solutions Engineer
CMK Resources is seeking an experienced Cloud Native Customer Solutions Engineer to support one of our premier partners in enterprise storage and cloud-native data solutions. This contractor will help expand the partner’s Kubernetes and Portworx capabilities across EMEA.
This senior, customer-facing position combines presales engineering, solution consulting, technical delivery, and ongoing customer enablement. The engineer will work directly with customers to understand their Kubernetes environments, business requirements, operational challenges, and data protection needs. Working closely with Architecture and Sales teams, this individual will recommend and help deliver solutions tailored to each customer’s environment.
This role extends beyond standard product deployments. The engineer will help customers evaluate solutions, make architectural decisions, troubleshoot complex infrastructure, and successfully operate containerized applications in production. Portworx experience is preferred but not required. Strong Kubernetes expertise, Linux troubleshooting capabilities, and an understanding of storage from a Kubernetes or DevOps engineering perspective are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Discovery and Presales Support
- Partner with customers, Sales teams, and Solution Architects to understand technical requirements, operational challenges, and business objectives.
- Assess existing Kubernetes, Linux, cloud, storage, backup, and DevOps environments.
- Recommend cloud-native storage, backup, disaster recovery, and data management solutions aligned with each customer’s requirements.
- Support technical discovery sessions, architecture workshops, solution demonstrations, proofs of concept, and customer presentations.
- Clearly communicate technical recommendations, solution value, risks, and implementation considerations to technical and business stakeholders.
- Help develop solution designs, implementation plans, reference architectures, and statements of work.
Solution Design and Delivery
- Work closely with Architects to design and implement Kubernetes-based solutions across on-premises, hybrid cloud, and public cloud environments.
- Install, configure, validate, and optimize Kubernetes and Portworx solutions using Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts, Operators, and related automation tools.
- Support solutions involving Portworx Enterprise, PX-Backup, PX-DR, and other cloud-native data management technologies.
- Help customers integrate Kubernetes platforms with underlying block, file, object, and software-defined storage technologies.
- Assist with the design of highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient environments for stateful containerized applications.
- Validate proposed changes in non-production environments before production implementation.
- Support deployments involving Red Hat OpenShift and other Kubernetes platforms.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
