🚀 Cloud Network Engineer – Hybrid Cloud & Cloud-Native Networking
Pay: £580 P/D
Location: Leeds/Hybrid
Duration: 6 Month Contract
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Network Engineer to join our engineering team and play a key role in designing, building and evolving large-scale hybrid-cloud networking platforms across public and private cloud environments.
This is a hands-on engineering and architecture role. You will work across cloud, data centre, platform, security and application teams to translate complex requirements into scalable, secure, resilient and automation-ready network solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver hybrid-cloud network architectures spanning AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, private cloud and enterprise Data Centre environments.
- Design cloud connectivity, routing, segmentation and resiliency solutions for large-scale enterprise platforms.
- Build, prototype and validate network solutions through labs, PoCs, pre-production environments and hands-on engineering.
- Develop and maintain cloud networking reference architectures, standards and reusable design patterns.
- Embed automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) into network designs and engineering processes.
- Design and engineer secure cloud-to-cloud, cloud-to-data-centre and private-cloud connectivity.
- Work with technologies such as AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, Google Cloud Interconnect, Equinix Fabric, Megaport or equivalent NaaS platforms.
- Apply strong networking fundamentals across BGP, routing, switching, L2/L3, segmentation, EVPN/VXLAN and high-availability architectures.
- Support cloud-native platforms including Kubernetes, CNI architectures, ingress/egress, service networking and load balancing.
- Work closely with Cloud, Platform Engineering, Security, DevOps and Application teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Produce clear, decision-focused architecture and engineering documentation.
- Evaluate emerging cloud, networking and automation technologies and identify opportunities to improve scalability, resilience and operational efficiency.

🔹 Required Experience
- Strong background in enterprise networking and Data Centre networking.
- Proven experience designing hybrid-cloud and private-cloud networking architectures.
- Strong understanding of AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud networking.
- Experience with cloud connectivity technologies such as Direct Connect, ExpressRoute, Cloud Interconnect, Equinix Fabric or Megaport.
- Strong BGP knowledge, including enterprise/Data Centre implementations, traffic engineering and cloud connectivity.
- Understanding of Kubernetes networking and CNI technologies such as Cilium, Calico or OVN-K.
- Knowledge of cloud-native networking concepts including service networking, ingress/egress and load balancing.
- Experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code, using technologies such as Terraform, Ansible or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Python, Go or scripting for network automation and integrations.
- Experience with network observability and telemetry platforms such as Splunk, Prometheus, ThousandEyes, Kentik or similar.
- Strong understanding of network security, segmentation, resilience and high-availability principles.
