Cloud Operations Engineer

6 month contract

Location: London (Hybrid)

Are you an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer with strong Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 experience? We're looking for a talented engineer to join the Technology team of this Financial Services organisation and play a key role in supporting and improving the hybrid cloud environment.

This is a hands-on role where you will work across Azure, Office 365, Windows infrastructure and automation, providing technical expertise while helping to deliver improvements and new technology solutions.

As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will act as a Level 3 escalation point, supporting critical infrastructure services and working collaboratively with engineering teams, architects and stakeholders to maintain a secure, reliable and efficient technology environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 3 technical support and escalation for cloud and infrastructure services
  • Manage and maintain Microsoft Azure and hybrid cloud environments
  • Support Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, security, governance and compliance
  • Manage modern workplace technologies including Microsoft Intune, Autopilot and Defender
  • Support Windows Server environments, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
  • Monitor platform health, investigate issues and proactively improve service reliability
  • Develop automation solutions using PowerShell and Power Automate
  • Contribute to infrastructure improvements, cloud initiatives and technology projects
  • Work with product owners, architects and technology teams to deliver solutions
  • Participate in an on-call support rota

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience supporting Microsoft Azure environments
  • Proven experience managing Microsoft 365 services
  • Good knowledge of Exchange Online and hybrid Exchange environments
  • Experience with Microsoft Intune, Autopilot and endpoint management
  • Strong Windows Server and Active Directory experience
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Understanding of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, firewalls and load balancing
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments
