We are looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering our technology strategy.
Working across a broad, global stakeholder community, you will translate business objectives and strategic priorities into a clear, forward-looking Cloud & Infrastructure Platform strategy.
You will work closely with senior technology, delivery and operational leaders to ensure that strategy becomes reality — delivering secure, resilient, scalable and cost-effective technology platforms.
This is a highly influential role that combines enterprise-level architecture, strategic planning, technical leadership and stakeholder management. You will have the opportunity to shape the future technology landscape while working across a diverse global organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and continuously evolve the multi-year Cloud & Infrastructure Platform Roadmap, ensuring it remains aligned with business strategy and delivers security, operational excellence, scalability and cost efficiency.
- Lead the delivery of the Cloud & Infrastructure Platform Roadmap, working collaboratively with Enterprise Architecture, Information Security, IT Operations, Engineering, Project Delivery and Finance.
- Establish effective architecture governance, technical standards, best practices, risk management frameworks and technology guardrails across engineering teams.
- Lead and coordinate architecture teams comprising both internal and external specialists.
- Develop technical blueprints, specifications, reference architectures and standards covering infrastructure, security and application deployment.
- Work with external technology partners and suppliers, ensuring appropriate commercial, technical and strategic decisions are made at the right time and at the right cost.
- Ensure critical Cloud & Infrastructure Platform services are designed, delivered and available to support technology platforms, business initiatives and customer-facing projects.
- Provide projects with clear estimates for timelines, dependencies, skills and effort required for solution design and delivery.
- Forecast platform capacity and ensure the required capabilities are available when needed.
- Anticipate future demand for platform services and identify innovative technologies and solutions to meet evolving business requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and ensure the platform remains secure, resilient, scalable and operationally excellent.

What We're Looking For
You will be an experienced technology architect with a strong background in cloud and infrastructure, combined with the ability to operate confidently at a strategic and senior stakeholder level.
You will ideally bring:
- Relevant technical architecture qualifications and certifications from at least one major cloud provider, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Deep technical expertise in at least one major cloud platform, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- 10+ years' experience across technology architecture and engineering, including at least 5 years' experience in cloud computing.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience across:
- Infrastructure as Code
- Serverless computing
- Containerisation
- Cloud networking
- Information security
- AI and data technologies
- Cloud infrastructure and platform engineering
- Strong experience establishing and operating architecture governance, technical standards, risk management, compliance and best-practice frameworks.
- A good understanding of the full project delivery lifecycle, from initial concept through to implementation, including delivery methodologies and financial considerations.
- A strong understanding of the technology operational lifecycle, from go-live through to decommissioning, with a focus on maintaining a high-performing operational environment.
- The ability to solve complex business and technology challenges, often within demanding timescales.
- The ability to translate business goals and strategy into a clear and actionable Cloud & Infrastructure Platform roadmap.
- Proven experience driving delivery through matrixed teams and stakeholders, including where resources are not under your direct management.
- A track record of innovation and technology adoption, ensuring platforms evolve to meet emerging business needs.
- Strong influencing and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage senior IT leaders, business stakeholders and technology teams across a global organisation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical senior audiences.
