A leading technology consultancy is looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Capability Lead to define and grow one of its most strategically important practice areas. This is a rare opportunity for a senior platform engineering leader to combine strategic direction, technical credibility and commercial impact — shaping how cloud platforms, DevOps and platform operations evolve as AI transforms the discipline.
This isn't a role about managing what already exists. It's about defining what comes next: new services, new ways of working, and a new generation of platform talent equipped to deliver them.
About the Role
As Platforms Capability Lead, you will take ownership of the practice's service strategy — deciding what is offered, to whom, and the outcomes it delivers — and keep that strategy commercially relevant and consistent across every sector and region the business operates in.
- You'll sponsor the standards, patterns and delivery practices that keep quality high, and you'll evolve services through proven innovation rather than theory — testing new approaches directly with clients and proving their value in the real world.
- With AI reshaping platform engineering and operations at pace, you'll take a leading role in defining how the practice adapts, innovates, and continues to create value for clients long into the future.
- Externally, you'll build strong relationships with clients, technology partners and industry communities, using thought leadership and innovation to raise the profile of the capability and the business behind it.
This is, above all, a people-first leadership role. You'll combine strategic vision, deep technical credibility and commercial awareness to support delivery, sales and capability growth — working closely with senior clients, technology partners and business leaders to shape how platform engineering evolves. And you'll build an environment where talented people can thrive, grow their careers, and do the best work of their lives. As platforms take on a bigger role in how technology gets delivered, the people who shape them matter more than ever.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
