Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS), Macro Hedge Fund, London [Onsite]
We are working with a macro fixed income hedge fund that are looking to hire a cloud platform engineer to join their growing team. They are a high-performing group that enjoys a strong track record of performance and strong staff retention. They also demonstrate a culture of high-ownership and, with this role in mind, an appetite for those with breadth in experience.
In this role, the focus is to support and deliver the firm’s migration from private cloud infrastructure to AWS, working to ensure a smooth and secure transition of business-critical systems. You’ll work closely with engineering and quant teams to build, automate, and support the firm’s future cloud platform. The immediate team tasked with the outlined migration is very lean. Therefore, they need a hands-on individual who is proactive, experienced across the full cloud ecosystem and willing to wear many hats in the process.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
