About Aspeiro Technology Group

Aspeiro Technology Group specializes in technology driven remote monitoring and network technology services and is developing a new proprietary technology platform.

The product is currently under confidential development, so the full commercial proposition and technical architecture will be discussed with shortlisted candidates rather than published in this advertisement.

We are building technology intended to operate continuously, integrate with external systems, and make dependable decisions from real-time events and data. Security, reliability, traceability and sound engineering judgement are fundamental to the product.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a capable, hands-on Platform Software Engineer to join our engineering effort and take real ownership of backend services, integrations, infrastructure and production reliability.

This is a hands-on technical role, not a people-management position. You will personally design systems, write and review production code, solve integration problems, and help establish the technical foundations the product runs on.

You will work closely with the rest of the engineering team and directly with company leadership, with meaningful input into architecture, engineering practices, security and delivery.

The role will suit someone who enjoys hands-on development, solving difficult systems problems, and taking responsibility for outcomes. You should be comfortable being trusted to make decisions and deliver working software rather than operating within several layers of process.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Designing and developing backend services, APIs and data models.
  • Building event-driven and asynchronous processing workflows.
  • Creating dependable workflow and state-management services.
  • Developing secure integrations with external platforms and third-party APIs.
  • Implementing queues, retries, timeouts, rate limits, deduplication and idempotent processing.
  • Integrating AI and machine-learning services through secure, structured interfaces.
  • Building clear, complete and auditable records of system decisions and actions.
  • Improving tenant isolation, authentication, authorization and secrets management.
  • Designing safe behavior for network, provider and third-party service outages.
  • Developing automated tests, integration tests and simulation tools.
  • Contributing to CI/CD, deployment, versioning and rollback processes.
  • Implementing logging, metrics, alerting and production observability.
  • Investigating production issues and improving system resilience.
  • Reviewing code and contributing to engineering standards.
  • Documenting architecture, integrations and operational procedures.
  • Sharing technical knowledge and reducing dependencies on any one person.
  • Working with company leadership to convert real-world requirements into dependable software.

What We're Looking For

  • Solid full-stack engineering experience: comfortable in TypeScript/Node.js and React, and able to pick up a new part of a system without hand-holding.
  • Real experience with a major cloud provider (we're on AWS: Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, DynamoDB) and relational databases (we run PostgreSQL with row-level security for tenant isolation).
  • Experience with event-driven systems, message queues, or asynchronous, retry-safe and idempotent workflow design.
  • Experience with secure software design, least-privilege access, and secrets management.
  • Comfortable with infrastructure-as-code, git-based workflows, and writing your own design records and runbooks. Documentation isn't an afterthought here.
  • Automated testing and production-quality code review as standard practice, not an extra step.
  • Someone who is careful and precise by disposition, not just by process. This is a system where an unhandled edge case has real downstream consequences, and we need someone who catches that in review, not in production.
  • Someone genuinely open to experimenting: we build with AI-assisted tooling (Claude Code is our primary build tool) and iterate fast, but every change ships with tests and goes through review against a written spec. We want someone who's energized by that combination of fast iteration and rigor, not one at the expense of the other.
  • Good written communication. We're async-first and remote, and a lot of technical judgement gets exercised in writing.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking a system from prototype through to monitored production.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Candidates will typically have several years of relevant commercial experience. We're equally interested in people who can demonstrate the required capability through consulting, contracting, open-source contributions or substantial production systems. We assess on engineering ability, judgement and ownership rather than job title alone.

Technical Environment

The platform combines backend services, external integrations, asynchronous workflows, cloud infrastructure, real-time event processing and AI-assisted capabilities.

Experience with a backend language such as TypeScript, Python, C#, Java, Go or Rust would be relevant. We are not looking for someone who simply matches a list of technologies; strong engineering fundamentals and an ability to learn unfamiliar systems matter more than experience with any one framework.

Because the product is under confidential development, further detail on the current architecture, technology stack and roadmap will be provided during the interview process.

Desirable Additional Experience

The following would be beneficial but is not mandatory:

  • Rust.
  • SOAP or legacy system integration, mTLS, or event-sourced architectures.
  • Voice or telephony platforms.
  • Regulated or compliance-heavy domains.
  • AI/ML integrations, structured outputs from large language models, or model evaluation and fallback.
  • Human-in-the-loop or approval-based workflows.
  • Systems that maintain detailed audit and evidence records.
  • High-availability or safety-critical platforms.
  • Site reliability engineering or DevOps.

The Person We're Looking For

  • Takes ownership of problems and follows them through to resolution.
  • Can balance speed of delivery with security and reliability.
  • Makes pragmatic decisions without compromising critical safeguards.
  • Communicates clearly with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Is comfortable working with incomplete or evolving requirements.
  • Can identify risk and challenge an approach constructively.
  • Enjoys investigating difficult integration and production problems.
  • Documents decisions and shares knowledge rather than holding it.
  • Understands that software quality includes how a system behaves when something fails.

What We Offer

  • A strong base salary, with flexibility for an exceptional candidate.
  • Permanent, full-time employment.
  • Remote working from within Ireland.
  • Occasional planned working sessions in County Tipperary.
  • Direct involvement in product and technical decisions.
  • Close collaboration with company leadership and the wider engineering effort.
  • The opportunity to join at an early stage and help shape how the engineering function develops.

Working Arrangement

This position can be performed remotely from within Ireland. You will be expected to attend occasional planned meetings and working sessions in County Tipperary. The role is not intended to require a weekly commute for someone living elsewhere in Ireland; any regular attendance expectations will be agreed clearly before appointment.

Normal working hours and any future production-support responsibilities will be documented separately. If a formal on-call arrangement is introduced, its frequency, response expectations and compensation will be agreed in advance.

Confidentiality

This position involves access to proprietary technology and commercially sensitive product plans.

Shortlisted candidates will be expected to respect the confidentiality of information shared during the recruitment process.

We will not ask candidates to disclose confidential information belonging to a current or former employer. Candidates should not provide proprietary code, customer information, internal documentation or trade secrets as part of their application or interview.

The successful candidate will be required to enter into appropriate confidentiality and intellectual-property agreements.

How to Apply

Applicants should submit a CV or LinkedIn profile together with a short note explaining:

  • A production software system they have helped design or build.
  • The part of that system for which they personally took ownership.
  • The most challenging reliability, integration or security problem they solved.
  • Why this opportunity interests them.

CV's by email to go to hr-uki@aspeiro.co

Applications will be handled confidentially.
