Senior Cloud Security Engineer
UK | Remote | Full-time, Perm position | Budget up to 90K GBP/annum
Cloud Security | Kubernetes | CSPM | DevSecOps
I'm working with a specialist cyber security consultancy looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Security Engineer to join its growing Professional Services team.
This is a hands-on technical consulting role focused on designing, implementing, and improving security across complex enterprise cloud environments. We're particularly interested in engineers with strong experience around Kubernetes and container security, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), cloud security architecture, and integration of security tooling into SIEM/SOAR environments.
You'll work directly with customer Cloud, DevOps, Platform, and Security teams, helping them understand their current security posture and implement practical improvements across their cloud environments.
Senior Cloud Security Engineer - Responsibilities:
- Design and implement security controls across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP
- Assess cloud environments and identify security risks, misconfigurations, and areas for improvement
- Secure Kubernetes clusters and containerised workloads
- Implement and optimise CSPM and wider cloud security tooling
- Integrate cloud security platforms with SIEM, SOAR, and security operations workflows
- Improve security across IAM, networking, workloads, applications, and cloud platform services
- Support vulnerability and exposure management across cloud environments
- Embed security controls into CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code workflows

Senior Cloud Security Engineer - Requirements:
- Strong hands-on experience in Cloud Security Engineering or Cloud Security Consulting
- Strong knowledge of AWS, Azure, and/or GCP security
- Practical experience securing Kubernetes and container environments
- Experience implementing CSPM/cloud security posture management
- Experience integrating security tooling with SIEM/SOAR platforms
- Strong understanding of IAM, cloud networking, workloads, and application security
- Understanding of vulnerability and exposure management within cloud environments
- Experience working with Terraform, CloudFormation, or other Infrastructure as Code technologies
- Understanding of DevSecOps and CI/CD security
- Strong customer-facing and consulting skills
Senior Cloud Security Engineer - Nice to have:
- Experience delivering security projects across large enterprise or regulated environments
- Multi-cloud security experience
- Experience with CNAPP platforms and broader capabilities such as CSPM, CWP/CWPP, and CIEM
- Experience with security automation and remediation workflows
- Relevant certifications such as CCSP, AWS Security Specialty, AZ-500, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, or CKS
- Experience mentoring engineers or providing technical leadership on customer engagements

The Opportunity
This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants to remain technically hands-on while taking ownership of complex customer cloud security projects. You'll work across different technologies and enterprise environments rather than maintaining a single internal platform, with significant exposure to cloud security engineering, Kubernetes security, security tooling, automation, and architecture.
As the cloud security capability continues to grow, there will also be opportunities to influence technical standards, delivery methodologies, and the development of new cloud security services.
