Position Available: Cloud Security Engineer

Location: Oxfordshire (1 day per week in office)

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Benefits

Experience needed

  • Hands-on experience building and supporting cloud security solutions, ideally using AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and Python or Shell scripting.

About our Team

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Cloud Security Engineer to join a growing security engineering team within a leading global organisation. You will help design, build and maintain security tooling across large-scale cloud environments, while working closely with software and platform engineering teams to ensure security solutions are successfully implemented and adopted.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain secure AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform
  • Develop and support CI/CD pipelines to automate reliable deployments
  • Implement and maintain security tooling across cloud and technology environments
  • Work with software and platform teams to embed security throughout development and deployment processes
  • Create monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to improve security visibility
  • Automate security processes using Python, Shell, or similar scripting languages
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and support the resilience of production systems
  • Produce documentation, runbooks, and clear technical guidance

Requirements

  • Practical experience within cloud security, security engineering, or DevSecOps
  • Strong knowledge of AWS or another major cloud platform
  • Experience using Terraform or a similar Infrastructure as Code tool
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, ideally including GitHub Actions
  • Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or Shell
  • Experience with security technologies such as SIEM, EDR, DLP, vulnerability-management, or code-analysis tools
  • An understanding of monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, New Relic, or Splunk
  • Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with software, infrastructure, or DevOps teams
  • A genuine interest in cybersecurity and emerging security technologies
