Microsoft Security Engineer - Southampton/Hybrid - £70,000 - £80,000
We're looking for an experienced Microsoft Security Engineer to join our client's growing cybersecurity team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about designing, implementing, and managing Microsoft's security technologies to help protect modern cloud-first environments.
You'll play a key role in strengthening our client's security posture by deploying and optimizing the full Microsoft Security stack, responding to security incidents, and driving security best practices across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments. Working remotely from anywhere in the UK, you'll collaborate with technical consultants, infrastructure teams, and customers to deliver secure, resilient, and well-governed Microsoft Security solutions.

- Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft security solutions across cloud and hybrid environments.
- Purview
- Microsoft Sentinel as a SIEM and SOAR platform.
- Microsoft Defender XDR, including:
- Defender for Endpoint
- Defender for Office 365
- Defender for Identity
- Defender for Cloud Apps
- Defender for Cloud
- Entra, including Conditional Access, Identity Protection, Privileged Identity Management (PIM), and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).
Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft Security ecosystem.
- Proven experience administering Microsoft Sentinel.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender XDR technologies.
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) security.
- Experience implementing Conditional Access and identity governance.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
- Experience investigating security incidents and analyzing logs.
- Good understanding of Microsoft 365 and Azure security architecture.

Certifications (Not essential)
- Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC-100)
- Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200)
- Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate (SC-300)
- Microsoft Certified: Information Security Administrator Associate (SC-401)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500)
