About The Role

The Cloud Security Engineer role offers a unique opportunity to work remotely within the UK on a 12-month contract, supporting a large-scale enterprise cloud environment. This position is ideal for a seasoned security professional with a strong background in cloud security operations, threat detection, and security automation. The successful candidate will join a collaborative security team dedicated to enhancing cloud security capabilities, strengthening cyber resilience, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across modern cloud platforms such as AWS and cloud-native environments. You will be instrumental in implementing security best practices, managing security tools, and supporting enterprise security architecture, including Zero Trust models.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a robust background in cloud security, with specific expertise in Cortex XSIAM and Cortex Cloud platforms. Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Kubernetes security is essential. Candidates should demonstrate proficiency with AWS security services, threat detection, incident response, and security automation. Familiarity with Palo Alto security technologies, including NGFW and Panorama, as well as SIEM integrations, is highly desirable. Additional qualifications include experience supporting enterprise cloud transformation projects, scripting skills for security automation, and a solid understanding of Zero Trust architecture principles. A relevant professional certification, such as CISSP, CCSP, or Palo Alto certifications, will be advantageous.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
