About The Role
The Cloud Security Engineer role offers an exciting opportunity to work remotely within the UK, supporting a prominent enterprise client through a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will be integral to a dynamic security team, focusing on enhancing cloud security capabilities across large-scale AWS and cloud-native environments. This position requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in cloud security tools, threat detection, incident response, and automation. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement security best practices, develop innovative security solutions, and support the ongoing evolution of the organization’s security posture. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Palo Alto security ecosystems, Kubernetes security, and cloud security controls, contributing to a resilient and secure cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a robust technical background with proven experience in cloud security and related technologies. Essential qualifications include expertise in Cortex XSIAM, Cortex Cloud, and Palo Alto security tools. Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Kubernetes, and container security is required. Candidates should have hands-on knowledge of AWS security services and cloud-native security controls, along with a solid understanding of threat detection, incident response, and security automation. Additional desirable skills include proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), scripting for security automation, and experience supporting enterprise cloud transformation initiatives. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within diverse teams are also important.
Responsibilities
- Operate and optimise Cortex Cloud and Cortex XSIAM platforms to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.
- Develop, tune, and maintain threat detection rules and automated response playbooks to ensure rapid incident management.
- Support incident response activities, including investigation, remediation, and post-incident analysis to mitigate security risks.
- Manage Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Kubernetes security tools to maintain a secure cloud environment.
- Implement and support Prisma Access and other secure remote access technologies to facilitate safe connectivity.
- Drive security automation initiatives, including integrations, scripting, and policy-as-code practices to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cloud engineering and cybersecurity teams to identify vulnerabilities and implement security improvements.
- Contribute to the development of Zero Trust architecture and security governance frameworks aligned with enterprise standards.

Benefits
This contract offers the flexibility of remote working within the UK, providing a competitive daily rate of 450 to 550 pounds, inside IR35.
