Cloud Security x DevSecOps Engineer | AWS
Hands on cloud security engineering role within a modern fintech platform
Remote - Applicants must already be living in the UK with the correct right to work.
Our client builds a data platform used by financial services firms to process and act on time sensitive market information at speed. They've recently secured significant new investment to accelerate growth, and engineering is scaling across the board.
We're hiring a Security / DevSecOps Engineer to take ownership of the hands on cloud security work across their AWS environment. Sitting alongside an experienced Platform Engineer and working closely with the CISO, you'll be responsible for strengthening security posture, identifying and remediating vulnerabilities and embedding security into the way infrastructure and software are built and delivered.
This isn't a governance or policy led security role. They need someone technical and hands on who is comfortable working directly with engineering teams, infrastructure and security tooling.
Process isn't fully defined yet, and that's deliberate. They want someone who can identify what's missing, make recommendations and then implement them, rather than waiting to be handed a finished playbook.

What you'll be doing
- Owning and maturing cloud security posture across AWS, using Wiz or a comparable CNAPP platform to triage findings, tune policies and close exposure paths
- Owning vulnerability management and helping automate CVE identification, prioritisation and remediation
- Working across identity, access and cloud configuration to identify weaknesses and improve security controls
- Embedding security into CI/CD and software delivery, including supply chain, dependency and infrastructure security
- Writing scripts and tooling in Python, Go or similar to automate security processes, including exploring how AI and agent based tooling can reduce manual overhead
- Supporting compliance and audit work alongside the CISO as the business continues to mature its security posture
- Working closely with Platform Engineering across Terraform, GitOps, ArgoCD and Kubernetes, bringing the security depth to complement the existing platform capability
What we're looking for
- Hands on experience in Cloud Security Engineering, DevSecOps or a similarly technical security role
- Strong AWS experience with demonstrable responsibility for securing production cloud environments
- Experience with Wiz, Orca, Prisma Cloud, Aqua or another CNAPP/CSPM platform, or significant hands on ownership of cloud security posture through comparable tooling
- Practical experience across areas such as vulnerability management, IAM, cloud configuration, container security, software supply chain security or secure CI/CD
- Enough familiarity with infrastructure as code, CI/CD and modern cloud engineering to work effectively alongside Platform and Software Engineers
- Comfortable scripting in Python, Go or similar to automate security processes
- Someone who enjoys being hands on, taking ownership and working within a small engineering team where not everything has already been defined

Nice to have
- Kubernetes security experience, although the team already has significant Kubernetes depth
- GitOps and ArgoCD experience
- Experience with streaming platforms such as Kafka or MSK from a security perspective
- Exposure to identity and access tooling such as Auth0 or Entra ID
- Experience supporting SOC 2 or similar security and compliance frameworks
- Interest or hands on experience using AI tooling to support security or platform automation
Salary
£80,000 to £95,000 + 20% bonus and benefits
