Job Title: Cloud Security Engineer – Banking Client
Location: Manchester (Hybrid – 3 Days per Week Onsite)
Duration: 6 Months+
Rate: 500 GBP/Day Inside IR35
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Cloud Security Engineer to join a leading Banking Client and support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of secure cloud platforms across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening cloud security, driving automation, supporting cloud-native application development, and ensuring cloud infrastructure complies with enterprise security and governance standards. This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale cloud transformation programmes within a highly regulated banking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and enhance secure cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Implement cloud security controls aligned with enterprise security policies and best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to deliver secure cloud-native solutions.
- Support DevOps teams by implementing secure CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
- Translate high-level and low-level designs into scalable technical solutions.
- Automate cloud security processes, remediation, and operational activities.
- Monitor cloud environments using SIEM, cloud security, and observability tools.
- Ensure compliance with security governance, access management, and software lifecycle standards.
- Support incident, problem, and change management activities.
- Work with container technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS, AKS, or GKE.

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proven background in Cloud Security Engineering.
- Experience implementing cloud security controls and cloud-native security services.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Agile delivery.
- Experience with scripting using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Java.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM/Bicep, Chef, or similar.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Good understanding of IAM, RBAC, encryption, cloud governance, and access management.
- Experience with cloud security posture management tools such as Wiz Cloud/Wiz Defend or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Windows and Red Hat Linux administration.
- Experience working with SIEM platforms, security monitoring, incident management, and change management.
- Previous experience working within Banking or other highly regulated environments is highly desirable.
- Relevant cloud or security certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, CISSP, etc.) are advantageous.

- Ability to work effectively within Agile delivery teams.
