Role Overview

Our client is looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to drive cyber security improvements across its cloud environment. Working within the IT Security team alongside internal IT and managed service providers, you'll help ensure cloud services meet security best practice and evolve the cloud security strategy as new threats and technologies emerge. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role involves explaining complex security issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy cloud security solutions across IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
  • Develop and maintain cloud security policies and procedures
  • Conduct security assessments and audits, identifying and mitigating risk
  • Support and maintain security controls within Azure Active Directory and Microsoft 365
  • Support production issues, incidents, and problem/change management forums
  • Support and maintain cloud security tooling and platforms
  • Contribute to post-incident reviews and propose preventative fixes
  • Mentor and cross-skill IT Security and wider IT colleagues
  • Track emerging cloud threats and vulnerabilities, recommending remediations

Requirements

  • Several years' IT experience with strong exposure to cloud technologies (Azure preferred)
  • Proven track record delivering information security in a modern digital workplace
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory (Microsoft Purview a plus)
  • PowerShell scripting ability
  • Working knowledge of NIST CSF, ISO 27001 and GDPR
  • Security certification desirable (CISSP, CISM); Azure certification desirable (AZ-500, SC-300)
  • Excellent communicator, able to present to technical and non-technical audiences
  • High standard of confidentiality and discretion
