Cloud Security Engineer
Location: Hybrid (3 days in office) Team: Cloud Security

About the Role

The Cloud Security team protects the platforms that power Fin’s AI-powered customer service experiences. We collaborate closely with infrastructure and product engineering teams to secure cloud environments, detect emerging threats, respond to incidents, and build the security foundations that allow teams to move quickly with confidence.
Your responsibilities include critical cloud security capabilities, such as:
- Detection engineering
- Cloud security monitoring
- Incident response
- Cloud security controls
- Security tooling for production environments
The team also enables secure operational workflows, allowing Fin to continue expanding its capabilities and adoption. You’ll help define how cloud security evolves alongside increasingly sophisticated systems and threat models.

To meet this evolving threat landscape, you’ll drive security initiatives and contribute to AI-powered software development tools.
Responsibilities
You will:
- Design and implement secure cloud architectures across AWS environments
- Build and maintain cloud security controls that improve visibility into threat detection and incident response
- Develop detection engineering frameworks to identify malicious behaviour and optimise response time
- Lead cloud security investigations and work with engineering teams during incidents
- Join our security-on-call rotation to help contain, remediate, and recover incidents
- Automate security processes to improve scalability, reliability, and effectiveness of controls
- Partner with infrastructure teams to embed security in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) and cloud-native tech workflows
- Develop and standardise cloud security best practices at Fin Drive security initiatives from identifying problems to designing, implementing, and measuring results
- Assess emerging threats to cloud environments and evolve defensive strategies
- Play a key role in Fin’s AI-first security approach, including:
- AI-assisted detection tools
- Automated security investigations
- Continuous monitoring
- Innovative defensive techniques
- Support the secure adoption of AI-driven development tools
Requirements
Must-Have Skills & Experience
✔ Proven expertise in cloud security, security engineering, or detection engineering ✔ Strong hands-on experience securing and operating production AWS environments ✔ Deep understanding of:
- Cloud security principles
- Modern attack techniques
- Detection/monitoring workflows ✔ Hands-on experience in cloud security controls, such as:
- CNAPPs (Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms)
- Large-scale security monitoring ✔ Past demonstrated capabilities in security incident response, investigations, and remediation ✔ Skills in cloud-native automation, tooling, and scaling security practices using IaC ✔ Ability to code and build automation workflows ✔ Collaborative mindset for technical communication and cross-disciplinary teamwork ✔ Experience working in AI-led environments

Nice-to-Have Skills
🔹 Experience in detection engineering, threat hunting, or red-team operations at scale 🔹 Familiarity with Editorial or content needs AI tools to improve efficiency in tech teams 🔹 Basic/advanced access to knowledge graphs, AI trainers, or real-time agentic automation 🔹 AWS networking, identity-based security, and cloud security controls 🔹 Experience in large-scale SaaS security architectures or working at high-growth companies
