About The Role
The Cloud Security Engineer role is a pivotal position within a dynamic security team supporting a large-scale enterprise cloud environment. This contract position is remote, based in the UK, and offers an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge cloud security initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing and maintaining the security posture of cloud platforms, particularly AWS and native cloud environments, by leveraging advanced security tools and frameworks. This role involves collaborating closely with cloud engineers and cybersecurity specialists to implement security best practices, automate security processes, and support the organization’s Zero Trust architecture. The position offers a chance to contribute to enterprise-scale security programs, improve threat detection capabilities, and support ongoing cloud security transformations.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess strong experience with cloud security technologies and frameworks, particularly within AWS and Palo Alto security ecosystems. A solid understanding of Cortex XSIAM and Cortex Cloud platforms is essential, along with experience in Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Kubernetes security. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with threat detection, incident response, and security automation. Knowledge of Prisma Access, secure remote access technologies, and API integrations is also required. Certifications related to cloud security, such as AWS Security Specialty or Palo Alto Networks certifications, are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, and a strong commitment to security best practices.

Responsibilities
- Operate and optimize Cortex Cloud and Cortex XSIAM platforms to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.
- Develop, tune, and maintain threat detection rules and automated response playbooks to improve security operations.
- Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.
- Manage and enhance Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) capabilities to ensure compliance and security best practices across cloud environments.
- Improve Kubernetes and container security posture through continuous assessment and implementation of security controls.
- Support Prisma Access and other secure remote access technologies to facilitate safe and reliable connectivity for remote users.
- Drive security automation initiatives, including integrations, scripting, and policy-as-code development to streamline security processes.
- Collaborate with cloud engineering and cybersecurity teams to identify security gaps and implement appropriate controls and improvements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Zero Trust architecture and security governance frameworks within the organization.

This contract role offers a fully remote working arrangement for candidates based in the UK, providing flexibility and work-life balance. The position is a long-term engagement of 12 months, with a competitive daily rate ranging from 450 to 550 per day, inside IR35.
