About The Role

The Cloud Security Engineer position is a critical role within a dynamic and forward-thinking security team. This contract-based, remote opportunity is tailored for professionals based in the UK, offering the chance to work on large-scale enterprise cloud environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for enhancing cloud security operations, implementing security best practices, and supporting the ongoing evolution of cloud security technologies. This role requires a proactive approach to threat detection, incident response, and security automation, with a focus on AWS and cloud-native platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience with Palo Alto security ecosystems and a strong understanding of Zero Trust architecture, contributing significantly to the organization’s cyber resilience and security posture.

The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in cloud security engineering, with proven experience working with Cortex XSIAM, Cortex Cloud, and other Palo Alto security solutions. Familiarity with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Kubernetes security is essential. Candidates should have hands-on experience with AWS security services, threat detection, and incident response. Knowledge of security automation, API integrations, and security governance frameworks is highly desirable. A background supporting enterprise cloud transformation initiatives and exposure to managed security environments will be advantageous. Professional certifications in cloud security or Palo Alto technologies are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and optimize Cortex Cloud and Cortex XSIAM platforms to enhance threat detection and response capabilities.
  • Develop, tune, and maintain threat detection rules and automated response playbooks to ensure rapid incident handling.
  • Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation of security incidents.
  • Manage Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Kubernetes security tools to maintain a secure cloud environment.
  • Support Prisma Access and other secure remote access technologies to facilitate safe and reliable connectivity.
  • Drive security automation initiatives, including scripting, integrations, and policy-as-code implementations.
  • Collaborate closely with cloud engineering and cybersecurity teams to identify security gaps and implement improvements.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Zero Trust architecture and security governance policies.
