About The Role
Hays Technology is currently seeking an experienced Cloud Security Engineer for a 12-month contract role, primarily remote within the UK. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic security team supporting a large-scale enterprise cloud environment. The successful candidate will be instrumental in enhancing the organization’s cloud security posture, driving automation initiatives, and implementing advanced security controls across cloud platforms such as AWS and cloud-native environments. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in cloud security architecture, threat detection, and security automation, looking to contribute to enterprise-scale security programs within a collaborative and innovative environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience in cloud security. Relevant qualifications include demonstrable experience with Cortex XSIAM and Cortex Cloud platforms, as well as proficiency in Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Kubernetes security. Strong knowledge of AWS security services, cloud-native controls, and security automation scripting is essential. Certifications such as CISSP, CCSK, or AWS Security Specialty are advantageous. Candidates should have a solid understanding of Zero Trust architecture, threat detection, incident response, and security orchestration. Experience working within enterprise cloud transformation programs and complex managed security environments will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities
- Operate, optimize, and maintain Cortex Cloud and Cortex XSIAM platforms to ensure robust threat detection and response capabilities.
- Develop, tune, and manage threat detection rules and automated response playbooks to improve security incident handling.
- Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and remediation of security threats.
- Manage Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Kubernetes security to uphold best practices and compliance standards.
- Support Prisma Access and other secure remote access technologies to facilitate secure connectivity for users and systems.
- Drive security automation initiatives, including scripting, integrations, and policy-as-code implementations to streamline security operations.
- Collaborate closely with cloud engineering and cybersecurity teams to identify vulnerabilities and implement security improvements.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of Zero Trust architecture and security governance frameworks across cloud environments.

This contract role offers a fully remote working arrangement within the UK, providing flexibility and work-life balance. The engagement spans 12 months, with a competitive daily rate ranging from 450 to 550 pounds, inside IR35.
