Role: Proxy Expert / Cloud Security Specialist
Location: London/Glasgow - Remote
Rate: 400-450 per day - Inside
We are seeking an experienced Proxy Expert / Cloud Security Specialist to lead the architecture, deployment, and operational management of our enterprise web security infrastructure. In this role, you will manage, maintain, and optimize hybrid proxy environments, migrating on-premises web proxy controls to cloud-delivered SASE security architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure enterprise web gateway (SWG) architectures across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Manage, write, and maintain custom Proxy Auto-Configuration (PAC) files to steer web traffic efficiently across globally distributed users.
- Configure SSL/TLS decryption policies, URL filtering, advanced threat protection, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) rules.
- Manage authentication integration for explicit and transparent proxies using SAML 2.0, Kerberos, Azure AD/Entra ID, and LDAP.
- Troubleshoot complex Layer 4 to Layer 7 traffic routing, proxy chaining, and application connectivity issues.
- Lead migration initiatives transitioning legacy web proxy infrastructure to SASE/cloud proxy frameworks.
- Collaborate with SOC and Incident Response teams to inspect high-risk web traffic, malicious domains, and data exfiltration vectors.

Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience specializing in network security, web proxies, and enterprise Secure Web Gateway (SWG) solutions.
- Strong expertise in HTTP/HTTPS, TCP/IP, SOCKS, DNS, SSL Decryption, and network packet analysis (Wireshark, Fiddler).
- Proficient in writing, debugging, and maintaining enterprise-grade PAC files and traffic forwarding rules.
- Practical knowledge of network routing, IPsec VPNs, GRE tunneling, and identity provider (IdP) integration.

Desirable & Specialized Skills
- Palo Alto Prisma Access: Hands-on experience configuring Prisma Access Explicit Proxy, GlobalProtect in Proxy Mode, Strata Cloud Manager / Panorama, Cloud Identity Engine, and proxy chaining.
- Forcepoint Proxy: Advanced knowledge of Forcepoint Web Security (SWG), Content Gateway, Hybrid/Cloud Security solutions, and DLP policy enforcement.
- Certifications (Preferred): Palo Alto Networks PCNSE or PCSAE, Forcepoint Administrator/Engineer Certification, CISSP, CCNP Security, or equivalent.
