Cloud Software Engineer

Deep Sea Electronics is a global leader in the design and manufacture of generator controllers, automatic transfer switch controllers, battery chargers, and vehicle and off-highway control systems. With over 200 employees across four continents, we supply our products to customers in more than 150 countries, both directly from our UK head office and through a well-established international distributor network.

As a Mid-level Cloud Engineer within the WebNet team, you will work across application and platform development. You will have solid working knowledge of one or more object-oriented languages, such as PHP, Golang, Node.js (TypeScript) or C#, alongside web technologies including TypeScript, HTML and CSS. The role focuses on developing and delivering application-level platform services, APIs, IoT integrations and backend tooling for the DSE WebNet platform.

Your primary focus will be the continued development of DSE WebNet, DSE's IoT platform. You will also contribute to a range of supporting tools and business systems. DSE operates in the energy control and automation markets. Its products support power generation and control across generator sets, renewable energy systems, microgrids and off-highway machinery.

You will contribute to application and platform development across WebNet, applying a developing track record of problem-solving and quality-focused software delivery. You will collaborate closely with the team, respond positively to technical guidance and continue to build your application architecture skills. You will take ownership of assigned work, raise risks and issues proactively, and continually develop your technical capability.

Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will bring strong communication skills, a practical can-do attitude and a genuine interest in innovative technology. This opportunity offers valuable experience in industrial controls, IoT infrastructure and cloud-native best practices.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
