Solutions Architect - Digital Identity & Biometrics
Belfast, London or Manchester | 8+ years' experience | Hybrid (2-3 days in the office) | 100-120k GBP | SC Eligibility Required | Permanent Contract
Are you passionate about solving large-scale identity challenges and shaping the future of secure digital services used by millions of people?
We're partnering with a leading digital transformation consultancy that is expanding its Digital Identity & Biometrics practice and seeking an experienced Solutions Architect to help deliver some of the UK's most impactful public sector programmes.
This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of Digital Identity, Biometrics, Cloud Architecture and Large-Scale Government Transformation, helping design solutions that improve citizen services, strengthen security and enable trusted digital interactions at national scale.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the architecture, design and delivery of large-scale Digital Identity and Biometrics solutions
- Collaborate with identity specialists, engineers, suppliers and delivery partners to solve complex identity challenges
- Design secure, scalable and resilient identity platforms used by millions of citizens and organisations
- Lead technical discovery, proof-of-concepts and innovation initiatives involving emerging identity technologies
- Support clients with identity strategy, architecture governance, platform selection and vendor evaluation
- Manage technical risk across complex identity ecosystems, including security, bias, resilience and performance considerations
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across government and regulated industries
- Mentor architects and consultants while contributing to practice growth and thought leadership
- Participate in industry events and help shape the future of Digital Identity and Biometrics

Your Experience
- Experience delivering Digital Identity or Biometric solutions
- Strong architecture leadership experience across enterprise-scale transformation programmes
- Experience designing and integrating technologies such as:
- Identity Verification (IDV)
- Digital Credentials
- Identity Wallets
- Live Facial Recognition (LFR)
- ABIS Platforms
- Business Identity Solutions
- Digital Verification Services
- eGate / Border Technologies
- Strong cloud architecture experience across AWS, Azure or GCP
- Knowledge of Digital Identity standards and frameworks such as GPG45, eIDAS and related industry standards
- Understanding of security, privacy and regulatory requirements including GDPR
- Strong stakeholder management and consulting skills
- Experience delivering solutions across complex multi-supplier environments
- Eligibility for UK SC Clearance

Nice to Have
- Experience within Government, Public Sector, Borders, Defence, Public Safety or Transport
- Knowledge of biometric technologies including facial, fingerprint or iris recognition
- Experience with biometric testing, liveness detection and presentation attack detection (PAD)
- Familiarity with TOGAF, GDS standards and the Technology Code of Practice
- Active involvement in the Identity & Biometrics community through thought leadership, speaking engagements or publications
