Cloud & Modern Work Team Lead – Home based - £85,000 - £95,000 + bonus

Role requires travel to London for client meetings/team meetings so must be commutable to London

We are looking for an experienced Cloud & Modern Work Practice Lead to take ownership of a growing Microsoft-focused Professional Services practice. This is a senior technical leadership position combining people management, Microsoft Cloud expertise, practice development, commercial responsibility and client engagement.

The successful candidate will lead a team of highly skilled Technical Consultants, ensuring they have the capability, support and development opportunities required to deliver high-quality solutions to customers. A key focus of the role will be Microsoft Cloud, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 and although this role doesn’t require you to be hands on – a solid understanding of the technologies is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Shape and develop the organisation's Microsoft Cloud and Modern Work capability.
  • Lead, manage and develop a team of Technical Consultants across Cloud and Modern Work.
  • Act as a mentor, escalation point and technical leader for the team.
  • Provide guidance across Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, security, compliance, collaboration and productivity technologies.
  • Create and maintain individual development plans, training plans, skills and career pathways.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging Microsoft technologies, including AI, Microsoft Copilot and agentic capabilities.
  • Identify skills gaps and ensure the team maintains the appropriate Microsoft certifications and technical capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Manage team utilisation, resource allocation and productivity against agreed KPIs.
  • Take responsibility for the current and future commercial performance of the Cloud & Modern Work practice.
  • Work closely with Sales, Presales and other Professional Services Practice Leads.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new Microsoft Cloud and Modern Work services.
  • Monitor utilisation, forecasting, resource requirements and profitability.
