Cloudflare WAF Security SME
3-Month Contract | Hybrid Working | Cambridge
Open to remote
We are looking for an experienced Cloudflare WAF Security SME to join on a 3-month contract, supporting an enterprise environment with large-scale web platforms and security requirements.
The successful contractor will have extensive experience working with Cloudflare Enterprise, with a strong focus on WAF, DNS, SSL/TLS, certificate management, and web application security.
Key Responsibilities
- Support large-scale domain onboarding into Cloudflare Enterprise.
- Design, implement, and optimize Cloudflare WAF policies and rules.
- Manage account-level WAF deployments and proxy enablement.
- Configure and troubleshoot DNS proxying and traffic management.
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates, including cipher remediation and security improvements.
- Work with F5 load balancers and Cloudflare integrations.
- Support origin security hardening and ensure secure communication between Cloudflare and origin infrastructure.
- Integrate Cloudflare logging and monitoring into existing operational processes.
- Troubleshoot WAF, DNS, SSL/TLS, and application security issues.
- Support operational readiness, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

About You
You will have:
- Extensive hands-on experience with Cloudflare Enterprise.
- Strong expertise in Cloudflare WAF and web application security.
- Proven experience with DNS, proxying, and domain onboarding at scale.
- Strong knowledge of SSL/TLS, certificates, and cipher suites.
- Experience working with F5 Load Balancers.
- Experience designing and tuning WAF rules to balance security and application availability.
- Strong understanding of origin security and enterprise web architecture.
- Experience with logging, monitoring, and operational readiness.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently within a complex enterprise environment.
