Our client is a fast-growing London technology business serving the financial services sector, and is building its own data centre from the ground up on Apache CloudStack. This is a rare chance to join early and get hands-on with every layer of a new private cloud, from bare-metal hosts and networking to the CloudStack platform running on top.
What you'll be doing
- Deploying and managing CloudStack infrastructure across zones, pods, clusters and KVM hosts.
- Managing VMs, templates, storage and networking within the platform.
- Supporting Linux and KVM hosts, including builds, patching and troubleshooting.
- Monitoring the platform and investigating incidents through to root cause.
- Helping commission new hardware and compute capacity as the data centre grows.
- Documenting configurations and processes as the environment is built.
- Working closely with senior engineers on upgrades, changes and automation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
