General Manager / Club Manager
Salary: £40,000-£50,000 OTE, including bonus
Locations: Multiple Powerleague clubs across London
Lead the team. Deliver brilliant service. Grow the club.
Powerleague is growing across London, and we’re looking for talented General / club Managers to lead several of our football and expanding padel clubs.
These opportunities have come through internal progression, which says a lot about the kind of business we want to be. We want people to join us, grow with us and build a career here.
If you’re currently working in hospitality, leisure, sport, retail, entertainment or venue management, and you know how to lead a team, drive sales and create a brilliant customer experience, this could be a great next step.
You don’t need to come from football or padel.
You might be a Hospitality Manager, Restaurant Manager, Bar Manager, General Manager, Venue Manager, Club Manager, or Leisure Manager looking for more ownership and the chance to run a business within a growing brand.
The Role
As a Powerleague General Manager, you’ll take ownership of your club’s performance.
At the heart of the role are two things: service and sales.
You’ll create an environment where customers feel welcome, teams are energised and people want to come back. At the same time, you’ll be commercially focused, spotting opportunities to grow bookings, increase revenue and make your club more successful.
This is a hands-on leadership role.
You’ll be visible. You’ll know your customers. You’ll coach your team. You’ll understand your numbers. And you’ll take real ownership of what happens in your club.
You’ll have the support of your Regional Operations Manager and the wider Powerleague team, but we want our General Managers to have the confidence and autonomy to make decisions, try new ideas and drive their business forward.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be responsible for:
- Leading, motivating and developing your team to deliver excellent customer service and strong commercial results.
- Creating a service culture where every customer receives a warm, engaging and professional experience.
- Driving sales across football, padel, events, parties, leagues and other club activities.
- Increasing bookings, utilisation, repeat visits and customer spend.
- Coaching your team to spot sales opportunities and confidently talk to customers about the products and experiences we offer.
- Building relationships with local businesses, schools, community groups, teams and organisations.
- Growing awareness of Powerleague within your local area and finding new ways to attract customers.
- Taking ownership of customer feedback and resolving issues quickly and professionally.
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the club and maintaining high operational standards.
- Recruiting, onboarding, coaching and developing your team.
- Creating clear standards and holding people accountable for delivering them.
- Managing KPIs, budgets and your club P&L.
- Working with your Regional Operations Manager on forecasts, plans and opportunities for growth.
- Identifying ways to improve revenue, efficiency, service and the overall customer experience.
- Ensuring the club operates safely and in line with required standards and procedures.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
