Location: Stevenage (100% Onsite)

Rate: £800-£850 per day (Inside IR35)

Clearance Required: Active SC Clearance

Nationality Requirement: Sole UK National

Candidates must not have spent more than 28 consecutive days outside the UK within the last 5 years.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced CMDB Application Developer & Reporting Specialist to lead the development and enhancement of a centralised Configuration Management Database (CMDB) platform within a large-scale enterprise environment.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong developer with expertise in application development, reporting, data integration, and ITSM processes. You will be responsible for building CMDB capabilities, automating data collection, creating executive dashboards, and delivering actionable insights that improve service quality, operational efficiency, and governance.

Key Responsibilities

Application Development

  • Design and develop a CMDB management application.
  • Build intuitive interfaces for Configuration Item (CI) management.
  • Develop workflows supporting the full CI lifecycle.
  • Implement data validation and integrity controls.
  • Integrate multiple data sources through APIs and connectors.
  • Automate data collection and synchronisation processes.

CMDB & Data Management

  • Define and maintain CMDB data models and relationships.
  • Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency.
  • Support infrastructure, application, service, and asset inventories.
  • Develop service mapping and governance capabilities.
  • Implement audit and compliance controls.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop operational and executive dashboards.
  • Create KPI and SLA reporting frameworks.
  • Deliver trend analysis, performance monitoring, and data insights.
  • Implement automated reporting and alerting mechanisms.
  • Support continuous CMDB health monitoring.

KPI Management

Develop and maintain reporting across areas including:

  • Data completeness and accuracy
  • Discovery coverage
  • Service mapping coverage
  • Asset compliance
  • CI health scores
  • Incident impact analysis
  • Change success rates
  • Data freshness and governance metrics

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years' experience in application development.
  • Strong database design and SQL expertise.
  • Experience integrating systems through REST APIs.
  • Data modelling and data integration experience.
  • Dashboard, reporting, and KPI development expertise.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Skills

Experience with one or more of the following:

  • Google AppSheet
  • Google Apps Script
  • BigQuery
  • Looker Studio
  • Microsoft Power Platform
  • Power BI
  • ServiceNow CMDB
  • Remedy CMDB
  • Python
  • JavaScript
  • ETL and Data Integration tools

ITSM & CMDB Knowledge

  • ITIL Foundation or equivalent understanding.
  • Configuration Management processes.
  • Asset Management.
  • Service Mapping.
  • Discovery tools.
  • Data Governance.
  • ServiceNow CMDB experience highly desirable.
