Advance Your Career as a CMM Technician / Inspector
Valmet is looking for a CMM Technician/Inspector to join the LB Bentley team in Stroud, UK. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining the quality and accuracy of our products. You'll operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), develop measurement routines, and inspect components against engineering drawings and specifications. Working in close collaboration with Engineering and Production teams, you'll help drive quality improvements, support new product introductions, and ensure our products meet the high standards expected by our customers.
What you'll do
- Operate and program CMM equipment to inspect parts and components against engineering drawings and specifications.
- Create and maintain measurement routines for incoming, in-process, and final inspections.
- Analyse measurement data and produce dimensional inspection reports.
- Perform routine maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to resolve quality issues and support new product introductions.
- Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and identify deviations from specifications and standards.
- Use a range of inspection equipment, including gauges, PMI equipment, ferrite testing and other quality control tools.
- Ensure accurate inspection records are maintained and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across inspection areas and promote a strong quality and safety culture.

What you'll bring
- Previous experience as a CMM Operator, CMM Technician, Inspector, or similar quality role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience programming and operating CMM equipment; experience with Mitutoyo and/or Aberlink systems would be advantageous.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
- Experience using inspection equipment such as micrometers, verniers, thread gauges, shadow graphs, and hardness testing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems would be beneficial.
