About the Job
Role Description
This is a full-time, site-based CMM Inspector role located in St. Neots, Cambridgeshire. At Titan, we pride ourselves on our relentless pursuit of quality. The CMM Inspector will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of precision machined components, supporting our commitment to delivering world-class engineering solutions across the motorsport, automotive and advanced engineering sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out dimensional inspection of precision machined components using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and a wide range of precision measuring equipment. Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams, the CMM Inspector will ensure all components conform to engineering drawings, customer specifications and the requirements of our Quality Management System.
This is a hands-on role requiring excellent attention to detail, a strong understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerancing, and a proactive approach to quality assurance and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining Titan's reputation for engineering excellence whilst supporting compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards.
About You
- Proven experience as a CMM Inspector or CMM Programmer within a precision engineering, CNC machining, automotive, aerospace or advanced manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T and dimensional tolerancing.
- Experience programming and operating CMM inspection equipment.
- Competent using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges and comparators.
- Experience carrying out first article, in-process and final inspection activities.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.
- Experience producing or supporting FAIR, ISIR and PPAP documentation would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across Engineering, Production and Quality teams.
- Self-motivated, organised and committed to delivering the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities
- Programme and operate CMM equipment to inspect precision machined components.
- Carry out first-off, in-process and final dimensional inspections.
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and customer specifications to verify product conformity.
- Use a range of precision measuring equipment to inspect complex components.
- Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation.
- Identify, investigate and report non-conforming products in accordance with company procedures.
- Support root cause investigations and corrective actions relating to quality issues.
- Maintain CMM equipment and support calibration activities to ensure measurement accuracy.
- Work closely with Engineering and Production teams to resolve quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes.
- Support compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and customer-specific quality requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency and inspection capability.
- Promote a culture of quality, accuracy and continuous improvement throughout the business.
