Chief Marketing Officer | PE-Backed Vertical SaaS | ~$100M ARR

The opportunity

Our client is a market-leading vertical SaaS business at around $100M ARR. It is backed by a top-tier private equity firm and is entering its next phase of growth. Its platform is mission-critical for its customers and deeply embedded in their day-to-day operations, which gives it strong retention and real room to grow.

With the next leg of the value creation plan underway, the business is hiring its first CMO of this calibre. This person will build marketing into a predictable, measurable growth engine and a true partner to sales. A Demand Generation specialist, with a good handle on Product Marketing would be an ideal fit.

What you'll do

You'll own the full marketing function, including brand, demand generation, product marketing, digital and customer marketing. You'll report to the CEO and sit on the executive leadership team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Your first priority is building a pipeline engine the CRO and board can rely on. That means clear attribution, efficient CAC, and marketing that is accountable to revenue rather than activity.

You'll sharpen positioning and category leadership in a defined vertical, and turn product depth into a clear competitive story. You'll also drive expansion and cross-sell into a loyal installed base, and lead and develop a high-performing team, upgrading talent where needed.

What we're looking for

CMO or VP/SVP Marketing experience in B2B SaaS, ideally scaling a business through the $50M–$250M ARR range.

A background selling complex, operational software. ERP, HCM, WFM, EdTech/e-learning or recruitment tech would all translate well.

Comfort in a PE environment. You understand value creation plans, board reporting and pace.

A demand-gen-first mindset. You know your numbers cold, from MQL-to-SQL conversion and pipeline coverage to CAC payback.

Credibility with both the CEO and the CRO. You're as comfortable in a pipeline review as in a brand discussion.

Why this role

This is a real seat at the table in a profitable, growing business, with significant equity upside through the next exit.

Interested? Apply here or message me directly for a confidential conversation. A couple of things to fill in before posting: location or remote/hybrid, the US/UK/global scope, and whether to mention a comp range. Ads with "competitive base + bonus + meaningful equity" typically pull better responses at this level than ones that say nothing.
