CNC Machine Operator

Location: Newcastle upon Tyne, England, North East
Contract Type: Contract
Salary: £20 - £28 per hour

Job Role:
Kinetic Recruitment are currently recruiting for a CNC Machine Operator for a 3-6 month temporary contract based in Newcastle Upon Tyne. As CNC Machine Operator you will operate a range of CNC machines, ensuring that precise specifications are input to complete the process to a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities:

  • Sets up and operates C.N.C. and conventional machines to produce components in accordance with specifications.
  • Makes necessary edits to NC part programmes to optimise the machining of components and feeds this information back to programmers. (This may need metric/imperial conversion.)
  • Select and where necessary pre-set tooling in accordance with 'Tool Sheets'.
  • Check finished work in accordance with 'Quality Acceptance Standard", using relevant measurement equipment (e.g. Micrometer, Vernier, C.M.M.).
  • Maintains tooling, components, machine and working environment in a clean and orderly state.
  • Carries out basic lubrication and maintenance of machines in line with training.
  • Maintains documentation regarding quality and progress of the job.

Education and Experience:

  • ONC or City Guilds in relevant discipline
  • Previous CNC operation in an engineering environment
  • Experience working to fine tolerances

The CNC Operator position is on a 3 shift pattern (mornings/ afternoons/ nights) and paid at an attractive hourly rate. This is an initial 3-6 month role however there could be scope for extension depending on workload on site.
