Role Description
The CNC Machinist role is a full-time, on-site position located in Cross Hands. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC machines to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Loading materials, selecting appropriate tools, adjusting machine settings, and performing basic programming or editing of CNC programs when required.
- Inspecting finished parts using measuring instruments, ensuring quality and accuracy, and recording production data.
- Performing routine machine maintenance.
- Following health and safety procedures.
- Collaborating with the engineering team.
- Contributing to continuous improvement of machining processes.

- Strong CNC machining skills, including machine setup, operation, and basic program adjustment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
- Competence in using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, vernier calipers, gauges) for quality inspection.
- Practical understanding of machining materials, cutting tools, speeds and feeds, and manufacturing processes.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a focus on producing high-quality, accurate components.
- Commitment to safe working practices and adherence to company health and safety policies.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Previous experience as a CNC machinist or relevant engineering shop experience; apprenticeship or vocational qualification in machining/engineering is beneficial.
- Willingness to learn, adapt to new technologies, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
